Therapy Dog Program
Stu and Sherry Galka are certified evaluators for Therapy Dogs International, Inc (TDI). We are members of the local Chapter #186 of which there are 57 members with 66 dogs from the Mother Lode. See our list of titled and active Chapter Dogs.
Pictured here is Kolyma's Kallie CGC, TDIAOV and currently working on her 250 visit goal (TDIRVA).
The primary objective of the TDI dog and handler is to provide comfort and companionship by sharing the dog with the patients in hospitals, nursing homes and other institutions and wherever else the Therapy Dog is needed. This is done in a way that increases emotional well being, promotes healing, and improves the quality of life for the people being visited and the staff that cares for these people.

(DOB 3/5/99)
TDI was formed so that dogs could be certified, insured and registered as volunteer therapy dogs. All dogs registered with TDI provide emotional service only. Our local chapter visits several times weekly at various rest homes and preschools around the Tuolumne County area. Check out our calendar below to see where our dogs will show up next.
Awards that the dogs can achieve:
- TDIA - TDI Active Working Title for making 50 visits
- TDIAOV - TDI Active Outstanding Volunteer for making 150 visits.
- TDIRVA - TDI Remarkable Volunteer Achievement for making 250 visits.
- TDIEVA - TDI Exceptional Volunteer Achievement for making 350 visits.
E-mail Mother Lode K-9 Training if you would like information on the requirements to register your dog with TDI.
